CHN El Dorado Hike & Picnic
When: Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11 AM – 2 PM
Where: El Dorado Nature Center and Regional Park,
7550 E Spring St, Long Beach, California 90815
Join CHN for a 2 mile hike and picnic in the park at El Dorado Nature Center! Open to CHN Members and Non-Members.
Pack a lunch for yourself and the kids, put on your comfy shoes, and lather up the sunscreen! CHN will provide water and pretzels for a snack.
We will meet hit the trail at 11am, please arrive early.
We will meet at the Nature Center entrance commons area.

This gated area is visible from the main parking lot, with giant climbing rocks and nature inspired bench seating. Perfect for a group photo opp!
The 2 mile trail has a few moderate inclines, bridges over lovely streams for full view of turtles sun bathing, and posts with educational information about the animals and native plants. There are multiple picnic spaces with log benches and open space areas, so we will find a spot to take a break for lunch and then continue our hike. There are streams, lakes, ponds, and wildlife along the trail, including very snack friendly squirrels – please do not feed them.
Upon finishing the hike, we will visit the Nature Center. There is an indoor classroom with insect, snake, and nature displays as well as a gift shop and restroom. Please R.S.V.P. we will see you June 26th!
